Free Ebay Seller Template
From LoveToKnow Web-Design
This is a free eBay seller template that you can use on your own Ebay listings. It uses CSS techniques of divs instead of tables, as well as the usual HTML tags for fonts and colors.
Elements of an Auction Listing
Copy each section of code that begins with a carat, and paste it piece by piece into your listing on eBay, making the changes indicated to personalize your template.
Start with a catchy title and description of your product:
|
<div id="MainTitle" style="position: absolute; left: 227px; top: 131px; width: 407px; height: 60px; z-index: 1; background: #FFFFFF; text-align: center; vertical-align: middle"> <font face="Verdana,Helvetica,Sans Serif" color="darkred"> My Product is so awesome, here's why! BlahBlahBlahBlah </font></div> |
Now you put in an image of your product, hosted on another web site. Many services exist specifically for eBay customers, but Flickr or Picasa will work equally well.
|
<div id="MainImage" style="position: absolute; left: 415px; top: 24px; width: 32px; height: 47px; z-index: 2; vertical-align: middle"><div align="center"> <img src="http://www.YourImageFileHost/productImage1.jpg"/> </div></div> |
You should go into more detail about your product, elaborating on why people should buy it. Using popular search terms that will easily show up on Google searches will also help draw people to your site.
|
<div id="Detail" style="position: absolute; left: 124px; top: 231px; width: 613px; height: 96px; z-index: 3; vertical-align: middle"><p> <font face="Verdana,Helvetica,Sans Serif" color="darkred"> My Great Product:</font></p> <blockquote> <p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> Here's a longer, more detailed description of my product. I tell what's so great about it, what you can use it for, and most of all why you should buy it right now from me! </font></p></blockquote></div> |
It's important to also let people know very clearly what the terms are for their purchase. It can be risky to ship out of the country, and also you need to determine methods of payment. While eBay will certainly have places for people to see this information in your auction, it's a good idea to reiterate it here without any confusion:
|
<div id="Shipping" style="position: absolute; left: 124px; top: 328px; width: 613px; height: 96px; z-index: 4; vertical-align: middle"> <p><font face="Verdana,Helvetica,Sans Serif" color="darkred">Shipping Terms:</font></p> <blockquote> <p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> This section defines the terms for shipping (locally, internationally, etc), the return policy, payment types accepted, and any other transactional information. </font></p> </blockquote></div> |
You may want to add more images to your page, showing off the product more clearly and from different angles. Keep in mind that each image will need to be hosted outside of the eBay site itself:
|
<div id="AdditionalImages" style="position: absolute; left: 124px; top: 425px; width: 613px; height: 74px; z-index: 5; vertical-align: middle"><p><font face="Verdana,Helvetica,Sans Serif" color="darkred">Additional Images :</font></p><p align="center"> <img src="http://www.YourImageFileHost/productImage2.jpg" alt="Additional Image 2" /> <img src="http://www.YourImageFileHost/productImage3.jpg" alt="Additional Image 3" /> </p></div> |
This last section is optional. It is simply a link to this article, so others can use the template on their listings:
|
<div id="LTKCredit" style="position: absolute; left: 10px; top: 506px; width: 736px; height: 16px; z-index: 6"><div align="center"> <font face="Helvetica ,sans serif" size="3" color="#000010"> <a href="http://web-design.lovetoknow.com/Free_Ebay_Seller_Template" target=_blank>Auction Template Produced by LoveToKnow</a> </font> </div> </div> |
When you're done copying each piece of the template and customizing them, just make your eBay listing active and watch how many people come to and look at your listing. Try tweaking things like background images, colors, and more to see what brings more people to the site. It's easy to change the listing codes, and once you find something that works, there's no reason not to use it for all of your listings.
Other Sources for a Free eBay Seller Template
This is only one example of a free eBay seller template. You can find many more on the web, and learn how to use them with other articles available here on LoveToKnow, such as Free Ebay Listing HTML Templates.
eBay itself also has several templates available to use for entire storefronts. There are a wide variety of other templates available for eBay sellers, but keep in mind that some of them are simply color-changing sites that insert links back to themselves in the code – and not in the "optional" way shown above. Take the time to select a template that you can really customize and make work for yourself and your company.
