The Story Behind Truetype Fonts

Truetype font is a style of font that was created by Apple Computers. They are used by both Apple and Microsoft, and are included in their software packages for both design and word-processing. It was an important innovation in typography as it was a true scalable font. Truetype fonts use a feature called “hinting”, which is a feature that allows a font to retain its design, even at smaller sizes. This is an important benefit to Truetype fonts for designers who want to preserve the integrity of their fonts while also wishing to play around with size and scale in their designs.

Helvetica Fonts

Helvetica fonts are a sans-serif font, which denotes the lack of the little ‘strokes’ on the type face of each letter. They were created by Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann in 1957. They are one of the most popular sans-serif typefaces in use in design, web design and printing. As such, there is a great demand from users of design and print software for free fonts – Helvetica Truetype being among the most desired.

Hi Greg - that's an excellent question, and the answer is that we would like to offer a resource to people who are looking for free Helvetica font but can't find them and instead get scammed by sites with Adware/Spyware and worse. What we would like to do is help those people understand that free Helvetica font does not exist for free (legally), *but* there are excellent resources for fonts similar to Helvetica that are free.

Basically we're trying to offer people a legal solution to something that they're looking for that's illegal. Do you follow? Thanks for your question and I hope that helps to clarify.
